Slingshot Game Technology Inc.
Slingshot Game Technology is pleased to present ‘The
Catapult’ game controller, the most realistic, interactive
snow/skate board peripheral, universal for use with personal computer
and all game console systems. The Catapult combines the extraordinary
technological advancements of new game systems and titles with the
thrill and explosive growth of the ‘eXtreme’ sports market
delivering unmatched excitement and interactivity to the game
player.
Using the Catapult requires players to stand on, balance and
maneuver the virtual board as real snowboarders do on the mountain or
in the skate park. Using a combination of the board with a unique 180
degree range of motion plus a hand controller, the Catapult creates a
highly realistic, fully interactive experience by bringing the
sophisticated 3-D graphics of today's software game titles together
with the realism of an actual sports experience. Play requires use of
full body motion rather than simply twiddling thumbs with hand
controllers.
The Catapult controller has been developed to be fully compatible
with PC board titles for snow and skateboarding, as well as with Xbox,
Playstation 2 and GameCube systems. There are currently more than 40
ski/skate/surf titles in the market with a range of new games coming
to capitalize on the explosive growth of ‘X’ sports and
the success of the Salt Lake City Olympic snowboarding team.
Released in late September, 2002, the Catapult has been recognized by
industry publications (Gameweek, Next Generation, Smart Computing) in
the US and in countries abroad from Norway to Japan, as a top new
product. Response to the Catapult at the SGMA SUPERSHOW and at TOYFAIR
was outstanding. The product will appear on national retailer shelves
in Fall 2002.
In addition to the Catapult, Slingshot offers ‘Soul
Ride’ game software which gives players the opportunity to ride
the snowboard down fully detailed, true renderings of actual ski
resorts like Stratton, Breckenridge and Jay Peak.
Slingshot was founded in 1997 to develop and market gaming hardware
and software products. Slingshot is located in Natick, Massachusetts
and on the web at http://www.soulride.com . Slingshot products are
made in the USA.
